The Spirit Makes Known

*Many of the Monks are now locked out of their place of worship because of the current unrest

*These are Buddisht Nuns - over 300 participated in the protests....

What would make a religious sect known for peace and inner solitude march on a oppressive regime.....? At the heart of God lies love and justice - and those who acknolwedge His presence know this core. Justice, ultimate liberation, and reconciliation have always been the plan since the fall - let us be about His work in this world. Christians, pray for your Buddhist brothers and sisters - pray that their prayers are answered by God and pray that the oppression in Myanmar, North Korea, Darfur, inner city America... will end.

Came across this article today. All things are possible.....

'God' Apparently Responds to Lawsuit

LINCOLN, Neb. - A legislator who filed a lawsuit against God has gotten something he might not have expected: a response. One of two court filings from "God" came Wednesday under otherworldly circumstances, according to John Friend, clerk of the Douglas County District Court in Omaha.

"This one miraculously appeared on the counter. It just all of a sudden was here - poof!" Friend said.

State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha sued God last week, seeking a permanent injunction against the Almighty for making terroristic threats, inspiring fear and causing "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants."

Chambers, a self-proclaimed agnostic who often criticizes Christians, said his filing was triggered by a federal lawsuit he considers frivolous. He said he's trying to makes the point that anybody can sue anybody.

Not so, says "God." His response argues that the defendant is immune from some earthly laws and the court lacks jurisdiction.

It adds that blaming God for human oppression and suffering misses an important point.

"I created man and woman with free will and next to the promise of immortal life, free will is my greatest gift to you," according to the response, as read by Friend.

There was no contact information on the filing, although St. Michael the Archangel is listed as a witness, Friend said.

A second response from "God" disputing Chambers' allegations lists a phone number for a Corpus Christi law office. A message left for that office was not immediately returned Thursday.

Attempts to reach Chambers by phone and at his Capitol office Thursday were unsuccessful.

God will help her if you do not.....

I was reading up on the Portland homeless programs tonight to see where and how I can become more involved.
I found this. I'm not sure what makes me more upset - the situation itself, the fact that this woman is so calcified and isolated from compassion and understanding about poverty and need, or that I once thought like her....

"It does seem that a large number of homeless are young teens rebelling for whatever reason who get hooked up in drugs which then take over their lives.

Broke my heart this weekend to see a pregnant youth sitting with her dog and a sign asking for help....her 'friend' up the street, obviously high on meth, asked my husband if he had given her $$$. When he said no she said, "You should give my friend $$$. She's pregnant and needs an abortion!" Well, I can tell you that if we had given her $$$, it would NOT have gone to an abortion (which I am opposed to but don't feel it is my right to tell others what to do) at 8 months pregnant....and the one who suffers the most is this unborn child who will live a life full of disability (most likely FAS or something else affecting brain development) because their mother used drugs while pregnant....sigh....why IS it society's problem and not these kids' parents????? Where did parenting go?????

I'm so thrilled to move to PDX next month but am, myself, terrified about raising my kids in an area where drugs may or may not be more readily accessible. I will take them to visit rehab places and soup kitchens throughout their childhood so they can witness first hand what choices in life can bring you...."

Lord have mercy-Christ have mercy
